Educated in the Chicago Public Schools, I attended Von Steuben HIgh School and grew up in the Albany Park neighborhood as a first generation American.
I was privileged to attend Northwestern University Honors Program in Medical Education on full scholarship. Obtaining a BA in Biology and a BScM in Medicine, I received Phi Beta Kappa and multiple honors in psychiatry as a medical student. I interned at USC Medical Center and completed my residency at UCLA.
I’ve been on the Top Doctors List since 2000 and have additional training in Bariatric Medicine (the study of obesity and weight loss) and Sexual Dysfunction (Loyola University)
As a psychiatrist at Northshore University Health Care, I received Presidential awards in patient care and held multiple administrative positions while simultaneously heading the Consultation-Liaison Service (medical psychiatry) and seeing outpatients.
